J’ai découvert, il y a 20 ans, la chapelle de Ronchamp. Je n’ai reçu, ni avant, ni après, ni un choc comparable ni une telle perception de justesse. J’y ai vu ce juste rapport possible entre vide et plein, entre massivité et élévation. A débuté alors pour moi une longue recherche, qui me nourrit encore aujourd’hui, visant à approcher le plus juste rapport entre forme et fond, entre vides et pleins. Cette recherche a débuté par l’orthogonalité et la centralité du croisement de lignes dans un espace carré.

20 years ago, I was in awe at the chapel of Ronchamp. I never experienced so much truthfulness. I saw this right balance between fullness and emptiness, massivity and rising. It's the beginning of a long research, which haven't stopped to inspire me yet, about balance between form and substance, emptiness and fullness. This research began with otrhogonality and centrality of the crossing lines in a square.
